Anubis and Kayura

I've wanted to make a Kayura costume from Ronin warriors for a while now, but she was down pretty far on my list of importance one that I'd get to eventually.
The other night Treize said something about Ronin Warriors, and that Anubis was a character he'd like to play because he is just that bad @$$.
So, (still way down the road) Anubis and Kayura will be on my list of to be done fairly soon.
I'll post pics of them soon, when I'm on my own computer, or at least one that I'm familiar with.
Two firsts on this costume set, I'll be working with Wonderflex for the armors, and Sculpey for Kayura's necklace. Neither of them I've worked with before, so if anyone has any input or tips, please feel free to send them.
Kayura's going to be exactly the way she was in the series, but Anubis (because there's SO freaking much extra stuff on his costume) will be done in traditional Samurai armor. I've found a pic of him like that, and it's a real one, not fanart, so I still consider it canon.
Also, because the costume is bound to be hot, and because Treize likes the later version of him, I'll also be making an Ancient version of Anubis, so that if Treize gets hot or just tired of having so much on him, he can go back, change and still be in costume.
 I just realized too, he'll need a wig... I don't know how he'll respond to that. LOL!

Lol! well, like I said, Anubis is going to look like a regular samurai (with the helmet). All those spikes and bodysuit work would be waaaaay too much. And personally, I don't get the kickstand on the back of their boots, but I bet it'd be a wonderful thing to spend hours on, only for it to fall off and get lost. LOL!

XD I'm going to have to look up the characters, as its been a while since I've even looked at Ronin Warriors, but if i remember correctly..those costumes will be fuun. XD
And guys never do take well to having to wear wigs, do they? XD

nope, they never like wigs. Though Treize seems to understand that he'll have to wear one to do the chara right. And he agreed with me there's no way he'd ever let his hair get that long (shudders at bad memories) or that red and choppy looking.

Treize has made the decision to go with traditional material for this version of Anubis. I was thinking wonderflex for the armor, but he has decided (and since it was his idea and costume I'm gonna go with it) to go with light wood and leather. This should prove really interesting.
Kayura is going to be made out of Wonderflex. Yeah, less authentic looking, but hell, I don't remember seeing any costumes like that in my history books. LOL!

Im seriously wondering if, rather than embrioder or find a patterned fabric, if I could paint the detailing on his surcoat... I remember hearing something about them doing that back in the day. I also wonder how badly the dye would run like tha or if I could make it into a paste maybe.... hmmmm..... much thinking on that.

Anubis and Kayura are confirmed as mainstay costumes for MTAC 10.
I'll start on them as soon as I finish the Cat Twins.

I'm still doing Kayura. I may yet do Anubis just to see if I can. Kayura will be at MTAC 10 and hiopefully AWA.
